  • NTT Com launches commercial sales of Active Multi-access SIM™ for carrier redundancy in diverse IoT devices

    TOKYO, JAPAN, January 31, 2024 — NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com), the ICT solutions and international communications business within the NTT group, announced today that it will begin commercial sales of its Active Multi-access SIM™, which has been offered on a trial basis since March 28, 2023, from January 31. The new SIM and associated service will enable diverse IoT devices to switch between a network's main and sub-carriers in the event of network failure, achieving network redundancy with a single SIM on a fully automatic basis without the need to monitor networks or initiate switching on the device terminal side.

The companies expect to use Project Kuiper LEO satellite connectivity services to enhance communications availability and resiliency for Japanese customers.

    TOKYO, JAPAN, July 11, 2023—NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com), Takenaka Corporation and Shimizu Corporation announced today that they will collaborate on the digital transformation (DX) of construction sites, aiming to improve the productivity of construction management operations by digitalizing and linking information used for process management, material logistics, work instructions, etc., in process charts and daily work reports. The three companies had been exploring such solutions independently, so their collaboration is expected to accelerate the development and commercialization of DX solutions for construction sites.

In the demonstration, a realistic digital human, named "CONN," created by combining human-like visuals generated by Toei Zukun Laboratory’s digital human technology and human-like personalities (behavior and voice) developed with NTT Human Informatics Laboratories' body motion-generation and voice-synthesis AI technology, will interact with people visiting NTT Com's OPEN HUB Park virtual space. The results will be used to determine the possibility of using digital humans as new points of contact for commercial services.
