    Toyota Tsusho Corporation ("Toyota Tsusho"), Internet Initiative Japan Inc. ("IIJ"), NEC Corporation ("NEC"), and NTT Communications Corporation ("NTT Com") announced today the conclusion of a contract with JSC Uzbektelecom (“Uzbektelecom”), a state-owned telecommunications operator in Uzbekistan, for a telecommunications infrastructure development project ("the Project") to provide data center and telecommunications infrastructure for an advanced data communication system ("the System").

    TOKYO, JAPAN, November 24, 2022— NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com), the ICT solutions and international communications business within the NTT group, announced today that in collaboration with Nippon Telegraph and Telephone West Corporation (NTT West) and Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (NTT), it will deploy its advanced All Photonics Network (APN), which is being developed under NTT's IOWN initiative,1 to connect thousands of musicians in three locations in real-time for a remote musical collaboration. The occasion will be the 40th performance of “SUNTORY Presents Beethoven’s 9th with a Cast of 10,000,” held annually at Osaka-jo (castle) since 1983, which will be hosted by Mainichi Broadcasting System, Inc. from 3:00pm on Sunday, December 4.

  • Achieving 1-Mbps/300-m underwater transmission and wireless remotely operated vehicle (ROV) using underwater acoustic communication

    The NTT Corporation (NTT; CEO, Akira Shimada), NTT DOCOMO, INC (DOCOMO; CEO, Motoyuki Ii), and NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Communications; CEO, Toru Maruoka) performed a joint experiment on achieving broadband wireless communication, and we succeeded at 1-Mbps/300-m underwater transmission in a shallow sea area (water depth of about 30 m) using underwater acoustic communication in field experiments.

  • NTT Com develops basic network edge technology for connected vehicles and robots

    TOKYO, JAPAN, October 18, 2022— NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com), the ICT solutions and international communications business within the NTT group, announced today its development of the basic technology to adapt edge computing, a promising technology for accelerating data processing in IoT devices, to “mobile IoT devices” such as connected vehicles and robots. The “Network Edge Solution” incorporating this basic technology will be made available sequentially starting in December 2022, and NTT Com is looking for clients who can actually demonstrate this solution at their business sites. It plans to enhance the functions based on feedback from clients who participated in the demonstration and the results of hearings on functions in high demand. Full-scale services will be provided in FY2023 as a new service to improve the performance of such mobile IoT devices.

  • NTT Com launches “Green Program for Employee” app visualizing CO₂ amounts emitted from daily life and encouraging eco-action

    TOKYO, JAPAN, October 17, 2022— NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com), the ICT solutions and international communications business within the NTT group, today announced its “Green Program for Employee” web application, which visualizes the amount of CO₂ emitted in daily life and encourages eco-action (leading to CO₂ emissions reduction). The app will be rolled out from November 2022. The knowledge gained from the introduction of the “Green Program for Employee” app within NTT Com will be utilized in the development of future GX (Green Transformation) solutions, and it will also be provided to clients, thereby contributing to the realization of carbon neutrality in society as a whole.

  • NTT Group Companies Begin Demonstration Experiment of Autonomous and Efficient Food Delivery Using Robots

    Tokyo – October 3, 2022 – NTT Urban Solutions, Inc. (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Representative Member of the Board President: Hiroshi Tsujigami), NTT Urban Development (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, President & CEO: Hiroshi Tsujigami), NTT Communications Corporation (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, President & CEO: Toru Maruoka, “NTT Com”), and NTT Corporation (Head Office:Chioyda-ku, Tokyo, President & CEO: Akira Shimada, “NTT”) are working together to reduce the need for human labor by utilizing robots in a new initiative. The four companies are conducting demonstration experiments involving food delivery using autonomous robots linked to mobile ordering apps. Through this demonstration, they also aim to create new and valuable experiences for office workers and sales opportunities for restaurants. This demonstration will begin on October 3, 2022, at the Urbannet Nagoya Nexta Building (1-chome, Higashi-sakura, Higashi-ku, Nagoya), a new construction completed in January 2022.

The test, an outgrowth of the two companies’ respective efforts to use the metaverse for new ways of communication, is aimed at realizing employee-friendly contact centers that will allow employees to work anywhere without feeling isolated from colleagues.
