Frost & Sullivan evaluated 12 major data center service providers in Asia-Pacific region, who fulfill the following two criteria: (1) Operates data centers in at least two countries or more in Asia-Pacific, and (2) Generated data center revenues from Asia-Pacific of more than US$60 million in 2016. Based on these, Frost & Sullivan plotted the respective vendors on the Frost IQ matrix. The key criteria evaluated in positioning companies on the matrix are: revenue market share, product/service strategy, people and skills strategy, ecosystem strategy and business strategy.
“NTT Communications continued its strong performance in the Asia Pacific data center services market in 2016. The Telco developed a threefold strategy to remain ahead of its competition. Firstly, NTT Communications was aggressive in expanding its data center presence in the region through acquisitions such as Cyber CSF in Indonesia and Netmagic Solutions in India, and building new data centers in Hong Kong and Japan. Secondly, the service provider added comprehensive services on colocation and managed hosting. The value added services include cloud computing, managed network and managed security among others, which helped the company to differentiate itself from its competitors, ” said Sandeep Bazaz, Industry Manager- Data Center and Cloud Computing Practice ICT at Frost and Sullivan. “Lastly, NTT Communications has established a strong network not only at the Asia Pacific level, but also at a global level. The company was one of the pioneers to offer SDN based connectivity between enterprise clouds, colocation data center and customer own data center,” he added. The three strategic initiatives have helped the company to establish itself as a very strong data center service provider in the Asia Pacific region. Frost & Sullivan is glad to position NTT Communications as Champion in APAC Data Center Services Market Frost IQ Matrix.
